Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 here on our 2020 Volvo XC90. Now a pullout from the style racks are gonna be a great way of transporting your bikes in a clean and nice looking way, as well as being super effective of not having any kind of movement on the rack as you are getting a lot of securance on there. The Sherpa does an excellent job with that. As you can see, we do have a nice ratcheting arm system on our wheel at the front. That's gonna do a great job making sure we have a nice stable platform here. more

Now, the platform-style racks are gonna be a great way of giving you a lot of stability, and making sure our bike looks pretty on the back of our car. And I think no another does it better than the Kuat NV. As you guys can see, very, very stylish rack. However, getting a very nice wheelbase so that we can get some of our bigger, longer bikes up on here, with no problem. And as well as with the 60 pound capacity, we're gonna be pretty hard-pressed to find a bike, we can't get up on here. more

This is gonna be a platform-style bike rack so it's gonna hold your bike down by the frame. So we don't recommend using carbon fiber bikes on these bike racks, just because that could dent it or scratch your frame and you don't want to do that. All the other types of bikes are fine on here. That's gonna be a hanging style bike rack, so the bikes gonna hang here from the tube, and you have straps that come over there, and hold it in place. Now we recommend, not to use a carbon fiber bike on hanging style, just because that's gonna put a lot of stress on that frame, could scratch or dent it, and you don't wanna do that on those expensive frames. We have a mountain bike up here, it's gonna be just fine. It holds the bikes really well. more

As you guys can see, we have nice little orange accents. This is the gunmetal gray color version of the two bike rack, but we actually are going to have two different colors. We're going to have matte black and metallic black, as well, so if you're not really a fan of this orange here, we have other options too and if you got more than just two bikes that you want to carry it to and fro we have four bike rack versions available for all three of those colors, so check that out, but let's just go ahead and start with probably one of the more unique features of this bike rack. Zach: Hey guys, Zach here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform-Style bike rack on our 2016 Volvo XC 90. This is going to be a really nice bike rack. One of my favorite things is the way that it holds the bike on, and that's the double wheel style, instead of a frame out or a single hook. A lot of the times those kind of have a set place on the trays and that's just where your bikes going to go.This style allows you to make some adjustments because a lot of times with platform racks, your handlebars will interfere with that second bike seat. So this allows us to move it back and forth, and as long as we're on that tray, we're good. So that we can move this around a little bit, make it a little bit easier to put that second bike on there without the contact.This one doesn't have the highest weight capacity for some other bike racks that you might be comparing it to. more

Colin: Hey everyone, Colin here at etrailer. Today we have a 2019 Volvo XC40, and we're going to do a test that the Saris Glide EX 2-Bike Rack. This is a hanging style bike rack that's going to allow you to load up to two bikes to and from your destination.Now what's really cool about this bike rack is that it can actually tilt away from the vehicle while bikes are loaded. That's not a common thing you see among hanging style racks. What we're going to do is pull the trigger right here, just tilt it away, you can see the arms kind of tilt up to accommodate for the bike. From there it's very easy to open up our trunk, there's plenty of clearance between the hatch and our bike. more

Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Volvo XC90- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Volvo XC90 we're gonna be test-fitting the Yakima Ridgeback 4-bike rack for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number YO2458. We have a bike installed on the rack already, and let's go ahead and take a closer look here.Starting with the arms, at the ends we both have the patented Yakima bottle openers, so you can have a nice cold one after a long trail ride. The cradles are gonna be stationary, meaning they can't move back and forth, but they are adequately spaced enough to fit the four bikes with ease.Also has this TPE cushioned padding here, and that's actually gonna help absorb some of the shock from your frame while traveling around and hitting those bumps on the road. It's also padded at the bottoms of our zip strips here, so that's a double protection for the frame of your bike while you travel, to keep any scratches from getting on it from loading it or traveling in general.It will grip your bike by three points. We'll have two zip strips up at the top, as well as one off to the side, and that's gonna serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike-to-bike contact. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2008 Volvo XC90- Video
Today on our 2008 Volvo XE-90, we'll be doing a test for the Kuat NV Platform Style Tilting 4-bike rack. That's part number N105-107. I've already got it loaded up on our XE-90, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's secures our bike. It secures our bike in two spots. We have this nice, big wheel-hook going over our front wheel, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. Then we have this rear-wheel strap going between our spokes and holding our rear wheel in place. All-in-all, there is no frame contact, so that's one of the really nice features. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Volvo XC60- Video
Today on our 2013 Volvo XC60, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Swing. This will be your hanging style 4-bike rack, part number TH9031XT. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here on the cradle arm so you can see what it's going to look like once it's fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This does come with a two-inch shank only and it will attach two-inch class receiver. Also, once you attach it to your receiver, it will be secured using a 3-1/4 inch anti-rattable that's going to help to reduce a lot of the sway, rattle and wobble that you would normally have in an ordinary bike rack. Let's start off using a few measurements. Our closest distance is going to be from the frontside here to the backside of the bumper at about 4-1/4 inches. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Volvo XC60 TH9029XT- Video
Today on our 2013 Volvo XC60 we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is going to be your hanging style 4-bike rack, part number TH9029XT. AS you can see we've already got a bike up here in place so you can see what it's going to look like once it's fully installed and in place on the back of your vehicle. This does come with an inch and a quarter shank as well as the 2 inch adapter so we'll figure Class I, II and III receivers. Just keep in mind if you plan on carrying it with your Class I receiver so you'll only be able to carry up to 2 bikes, and that's per your hitch's weight specifications. With this Class III receiver that we have on here today it's going to attach using a 3/4 inch anti-rattle bolt and it's going to keep the sway, rattle and wobble to a very minimum. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Volvo XC70- Video
Today on our 2011 Volvo XC70 we'll be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, product number TH990XT. This bike carrier is applicable for both 2-inch and 1-1/4 inch hitches. Our Volvo today is fitted with the 1-1/4 hitch and our bike rack is already preassembled so we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll begin by inserting the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole and go ahead and insert our anti-rattle bolt. Next, we'll go ahead and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt using our wrench. more
